Skulltide is joining the wizards at the Wonders of Wizardry sale event this year with a brand new update, featuring a host of bugfixes and a massive performance overhaul. Lessons from the third game in the Planar Danse, The Fool's Apprentice, have been brought back to Skulltide, and the game performs with overall 60% less GPU usage in all complex levels.
In my tests, the levels of Tel Sora and Zypressvald stressed streaming and rendering the most, and now frametimes have halved, doubling FPS in these levels! The game overall has a massive increase in performance on GPU and CPU, as tweaks to 💀enemy AI💀 allowed for more intelligent use of resources. As such, the minimum specs for Skulltide have been slightly lowered :)
If you've been hesitant to delve into Skulltide, the game is now better than ever, and currently on discount through the event! Several rare but run-demolishing bugs have been quashed, and a little spot of necromancy might just be the spell you need this year for the Wonders of Wizardry! 🧙🧙🧙
