Greetings, Border Officers!

The jungle is getting restless, and so are the people crossing your border. We’ve been heads-down in development, focusing on the core of the Narco Check experience: the consequences of your actions and how smoothly you navigate them.

Whether you’re a saint with a badge or a kingpin in the making, these new systems are going to test your limits.

🔒 The Jail: A Living System

The jail isn't just a visual prop anymore; it’s now a fully functional part of your station.

  • Persistent Prisoners: Every smuggler or suspicious traveler you lock up is logged and kept in their cell for multiple days.

  • Morning Roll Call: When you clock in the next morning, the people you arrested yesterday will still be there, reminding you of the choices you made during your previous shift.

👮 Security Detail

You’re an officer, not a bouncer. To keep the gameplay flow fast and focused on the paperwork, we’ve introduced a new arrest mechanic:

  • The Panic Button: Once you decide to detain someone, simply press the red button on your desk.

  • Escort System: Your hired security detail will arrive immediately, grab the passenger, and escort them to the cells. This allows you to stay at your desk and keep the line moving without interruption.

💰 The Bribe Rework: The Temptation of Cash

In the 2000s, cash was king, and now it’s your biggest temptation. We’ve overhauled how bribes work to make them feel more personal and high-stakes:

  • Immediate Offers: Caught a passenger with contraband? They might reach into their pocket and hold out a wad of cash right then and there. You have a split second to decide: take the "donation" or do your job.

  • Cell Block Deals: The temptation doesn't end at the desk. Prisoners will now try to buy their freedom by offering envelopes of cash through their cell bars.

  • The Corruption Trap: Every bribe you take is remembered. Push your corruption too far, and an audit will eventually knock on your door, leading to heavy fines, slashed paychecks, and a ruined reputation.
