Utopia Colony is now in full release!
After over 6 years of work and 30 updates, we are excited to announce that we now have reached the end of our Early Access journey for Utopia Colony. We have made a screenshot collage below: ːsteamhappyː
We wish to say thanks to everyone who have contributed with input. It has helped us a lot to understand what Utopia Colony should comprise... We were surprised at how many contributed input, and how many directions everyone wished to take the game. It was a lot of difficult choices to be made, but we decided to stay true to our initial vision of trying to make Utopia Colony a relatively realistic representation of how it might actually be to be a miner on Mars in the near future... We feel this is what makes Utopia Colony a truly unique game... Although this implies that the game is not very exciting -- yes, it cannot not be super exciting to be a miner on Mars in reality -- we feel that we now have an unique Mars game that does to a decent degree reflect our initial vision... We are sorry if anyone feels their ideas did not get heard, but we could not make a game that comprise the many wishes, because then Utopia Colony would have become something strange and not consistent with any clear vision.. We have also received input that animations, models, vehicles, etc., could be more "polished" and have higher quality -- like we see in AAA games. We have looked into it, but since we are a small Indie we had to acknowledged that we simply are not able to make that level of polished quality with the resources we have.. It would have taken us years of work, and frankly we are not sure if it would have increased the overall quality of the experience too much.. There is something to be said for the Indie less-polished feel that it has too -- it leaves more to ones imagination..

In this full release, we have:
Improved the visualizations of the game.
Improved the Research Task objects.
Added a few more props here and there.
Adjusted a few of the ore sources.
