We’ve got some wonderful news for our Kickstarter Alpha Backer: the Solarpunk singleplayer playtest for Kickstarter Alpha-Test backers is officially starting NOW! 🎉 Yes, exactly, NOW! This playtest is singleplayer only, and all backers who selected Alpha Access during the Kickstarter are invited. You should have received your keys back in January (for the alpha demo). Keep in mind: this is an alpha version – bugs may occur and some features are still incomplete.
👉 To join, simply update your Steam playtest build (Alpha Access backers only), restart Steam, and you’ll immediately have access to the latest playtest version.

In the meantime, we definitely didn’t sleep on development! We’ve been working hard to improve and expand Solarpunk. Some of the highlights include:
Character Editor is now in the game (Basic)
Basic controller support has been added (with a virtual cursor for now)
Animal care improved: new round feeding & water stations, plus smarter AI so animals find and use them correctly
Fresh new assets: updated crops (tomatoes & peppers), new trophy models, and polished item icons
Immersion upgrades: new music tracks added for an even cozier atmosphere
And of course… many smaller tweaks and fixes behind the scenes to make the game smoother and more fun to play.
We have incorporated the Kickstarter backer designs and/or skins into the game.
This singleplayer playtest is the first big step with our community onboard. Your feedback will directly help us refine balancing, polish features, and improve the overall experience. Every insight you share is a seed that helps Solarpunk grow into the cozy, beautiful world we all want it to be.The multiplayer playtest will take place in a few weeks, depending on your feedback, among other things.We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for a release date, and we truly appreciate your patience during this long journey. Before we commit to announcing one, we want to make sure that Solarpunk feels right in your hands. That’s why our next big step will be the upcoming playtests. Once we’ve gathered your feedback and ensured the game is stable and enjoyable, we’ll finally be ready to share a proper release date with you.
