Hey everyone, thanks for the support on Astronook's demo, got a small update here.
Main Addition - Improved Controller / Steamdeck Support (see all gamepad fixes + changes below)
Other Small Additions:
You can now click on star icons to jump to that relevant constellation straight away
Added Invert X/Y settings
Added basic performance quality settings to disable Ambient Occlusion, Shadows + VSync (disabling Shadows will help most for performance, not the intended game look though)
If you hover over tutorial instruction in telescope view it fades out so you can see behind the instruction
Made it so you can uncomplete tutorial instructions eg. if start focusing with F then stop focusing with F again, instruction will now uncheck for clearer feedback (wasn’t very intuitive without this before)
Added extra tutorial prompt informing you that you have to click on the planet again to zoom back out (after completed main tutorial)
Added small enter/exit animations to tutorials
Lowered dialogue panel a little for 16:10 aspect ratio
Made star map smaller for 16:10 so it doesn’t get in the way of telescope view
Bug Fixes:
Fixed soft-lock of not being able to exit telescope if got News alert for the first time while in telescope and then completed constellation
Fixed irregular audio scaling with sound/music volume sliders
Fixed music abrupt volume change when restart game after changing music slider value
Fixed sometimes Star Chart images staying selected after closing Star Chart
Fixed menu buttons sometimes staying in the wrong states
Fixed floating photo when pickup another photo while already holding one
Fixed soft-lock where you got stuck in the tutorial if you picked up the photo before relevant task and stuck the photo in
Gamepad Fixes:
Fixed gamepad cursor jerking upon scene loads (was causing most issues on Steamdeck)
Fixed trackpad not working on Steamdeck, you can now use the trackpad to map out constellations if you want to
Fixed left/right triggers not working on computer
Fixed left/right triggers causing cursor jerk
Fixed computer mouse starting off “stuck” just off-screen sometimes when using gamepad
Fixed Gamepad Scroll Speed setting not working
Gamepad Changes:
You can now use left stick to map out constellations too if you want to
You can now exit telescope, star chart, etc with East Button (B/Circle) instead of being same as interact button (X/Square)
Made East Button (B/Circle) work to go back in settings menu or exit pause menu
Can now exit telescope while in camera mode with gamepad
Also I definitely want to change the star mapping sound effects since a few of you said that they don't fit the tone of the game and I agree, so hoping to sort that out next.
