City Transport Simulator: Bus + Tram Update v1.1.1 Now Live

City Transport Simulator: Tram just got a major update! With version 1.1.1, we're bringing over 50 new missions, stop platform choice, visual upgrades, many fixed and more AI interactions to enrich your experience. Plus, we're excited to announce that City Transport Simulator: Bus is officially out now and available on Steam!

Changelog

New Content and Features

  • 50 brand-new missions available across both modules
  • 8 new sandbox lines added for buses
  • Basic Bus Tutorial introduced for first-time drivers and also available in CTS: Tram
  • Bus Map Extension added for AI buses in CTS: Tram and for CTS: Bus
  • Station names are now editable in the Operations Menu
  • Berlin, Munich, and Vienna-style station elements can now be switched in the Personalization Menu
  • Line creation now allows choosing the platform for more flexible endstation usage
  • New main menu design and updated loading screen key art

Gameplay and AI Enhancements

  • Passengers now greet you when boarding and react to your driving style
  • AI cars now honk in response to reckless driving
  • No collision timer for low-speed collisions with cars

Visual and UX Improvements

  • Lighting system upgraded to Lumen for enhanced visual fidelity
  • Mirror resolution increased
  • Shadows under trams improved
  • Traffic light cycles reworked
  • Ground markings added and improved across the map
  • Stop markers at stations now align with guidance strips for the visually impaired
  • HUD stop marker for trams changed to a semi-cylinder

Controls and Settings

  • Steering wheel support added (see Control Settings)
  • Force Feedback options for CTS: Bus now available in Gameplay Settings

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed AI car driving into tram at Sommerfeldgarten
  • Fixed E1 tram driving too fast
  • Fixed crash when entering line 0 in Vienna IBIS

Known Issues

  • Career mode bus lines are not automatically added for existing players of CTS: Tram, which causes AI buses to not appear in career mode when using an existing save.
  • Sandbox mode bus lines are also not automatically added for existing players of CTS: Tram. You’ll need to press “Restore Default Lines” — but please note that this will delete any custom sandbox lines you’ve created.

We are actively working on fixing these two issues and will provide a hotfix as soon as possible, so that CTS: Tram players can experience AI buses as promised. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks for Your Support!

This update reflects a lot of your feedback, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience and passion as we continue building City Transport Simulator together.

We’re just getting started — more improvements and features are on the way. In the meantime, enjoy the new missions, customizable stations, improved AI, and everything CTS: Bus has to offer.
