This is a beta update. Please get the experimental branch of the app if you want to receive this update.

What's new?

I will be covering four topics: What, why, how and general usage warnings.

What is jumper?

It is an automation!

Jumper allows you to skip having to constantly click and find your way within nested actions - that means that if you're 10 menus deep, you will be able to save the depth of the menus by creating a point in it.

Jumper in action

It literally just opens everything for you. It literally takes so much less time to get to a menu that's 6 layers deep. Jumper doesn't have a limit to how many layers it can do, so you're free to use it to its fullest.

Why is jumper a thing?

Well, it's a thing because I spent a few too many hours of my life working on it.

Okay, jokes aside, Jumper is a solution to a problem that came with BMD's nesting system. While I don't remember more than two people complaining about the nesting, it's a problem for me, therefore it's probably a problem people just live with, a problem they avoid mentioning - there's no obvious solution, I guess.

Problem in question: People have to constantly click through menus repetitively, tanking the speed at which they operate.

This is the solution.

Jumper heavily increases workflow speed and your productivity while reducing the amount of navigation you have to do. Think of it like a very fancy autoclicker.

Is this too much for a bot maker? Maybe! Is this really useful for the people that use this app? Yes!

How do I use Jumper?

First, enable it in Settings -> Behavior. Scroll down to automations and look for Jumper

Second, to create a jumping point, go a few layers deep in an action - perhaps a self contained anchor or a button!

There will be a small tab to the left of your action editor allowing you to open Jumper.

Click the tab. You will afterwards be greeted by the Jumper interface. You may create your jumping point from there. It automatically knows where to create it, there's no need for any setup on your part. At most, give it a name.

To open your jumper, go back to the main interface and look at the bottom of your action pane.

Clicking that will open the Jumper picker UI. Pick your newly bridged jumper and hit "Done" in the top left.

Known issues with jumper

Since this is an experimental build and a feature I have had to slightly rush (I wanted to get it done by tonight, it is 5:01AM as of writing this), it has some quirks.

  • You may have to select the first action in your jumper bridge before opening the jumper in some weird cases. Will be running checks for further answers.

  • Jumper may fail to accurately recognize your open windows, so it may fail to create an accurate jump point. I have tried to figure out why this is the case, I couldn't find a genuine reason. I will be doing further testing.

Overall, I am very proud that jumper is a thing and I hope

We have implemented Discord's new modal elements: Radio Group, Checkbox Group, Checkbox.

You may find them in the modal window.

Other updates

  • Updated some parts of the action displaying field hopefully reaching better performance in extreme cases. No significant differences in speed have been measured in an average scenario.
