Greetings, blacksmiths! Welcome to the development log, March 2026 edition. It has been a busy month, and we have plenty of updates to share with you. Let’s go!

  1. Polishing Grandall with more plants
Green always feels fresh and cozy. That’s why we believe Grandall needs more varieties of plants to make it feel more alive. Here are some bushes, flowers, and other plants that we have developed. We want Grandall to be a comfortable place for you to walk around, as this is an area you will visit frequently.

  2. Weather system and natural phenomena
You can now enjoy a more immersive experience in Smith’s Chronicles with our latest dynamic weather system. It feels great to mine and gather wood while listening to the sound of rain. Beyond enhancing visuals and gameplay experience, the weather system and natural phenomena also provide additional buffs to the ores you mine for crafting. For example, if you mine during a blood moon, there is a chance that the ores you obtain will have special enchantments from the blood moon, increasing their selling value. Currently, the game features several weather types, including rain, sunny, cloudy, windy, solar eclipse, and blood moon.

  3. Adding gamepad support
We know many cozy gamers prefer to play with a controller or a handheld device. This is something we also enjoy. We are now adding controller support to make Smith’s Chronicles more accessible and enjoyable in various situations. Of course, we are also thinking about porting the game to consoles in the future.

  4. Quality of life improvements and bug fixes
This month, we made significant quality-of-life improvements and fixed various bugs to ensure that by the end of Q1, we have a more stable build with no game-breaking issues. This includes UI improvements, such as updating crafting item icons to better represent the materials used, as well as fixing some odd visual bugs. For example, Bahramm and Brennah would sometimes appear smaller during certain animations, such as fishing.

Hopefully, once the build is more stable and the core loop is complete, we can begin closed private testing for Smith’s Chronicles in the near future. If you are interested in trying our early build, make sure to join our Discord channel so you don’t miss any updates. We would also love to hear your feedback on our progress so far. Is there any feature that you find particularly interesting?
