Today, we wanted to share our updated 2026 Early Access Roadmap, provide news on our next upcoming updates, and deep dive into our Runes mechanic for Goblin Cleanup!
We've updated our 2026 Roadmap, which is featured below! The only change to this roadmap is that our Spring 2026 Updates are now split into two:
The Runed It! Update arriving in Spring 2026, bringing:
Runes System.
Mimic Customisation.
Kickstarter Designed Cosmetics.
The Boss Update arriving soon after with the arrival of:
New Boss Level to complete Dungeon 1.
We've split our Spring 2026 content across two updates, allowing us to provide you with an update sooner! Some new additions will arrive in early April in our Runed It! Update, followed soon after by our Boss Update to complete Dungeon 1.
The Runed It! Update will include the well-anticipated Mimic Customisation, new Kickstarter-Designed Cosmetics, and 15 Runes to unlock (more details on these later in this post!โฌ๏ธ).
Our boss needs a little bit longer to cook before releasing them... on you ๐ Overall, we didn't want this to hold back the entire content we had planned for Spring 2026, just because of tweaks we want to make to the boss level! Splitting the updates in this way allows you to explore the Runes System before the addition of our Boss, arriving soon after our Runed It! Update.
The remainder of our Early Access updates remain unchanged across Summer 2026 to 1.0 in 2027. This totals ten new levels for you to clean and exciting new features such as Goblin Emotes, Photo Mode, and more, all across this year. We're excited to deliver frequent updates during our period of Steam Early Access! ๐
The largest addition of our upcoming Runed It! Update is the Runes System! I'm sure you are eager to hear all about how the stat modifiers that the Runes System brings, but first, let's run through how you will unlock Runes in our next update!
In Early April, you'll find a new window in the Hub Area, where a shy Black Mage who's a master of magic powers has set up shop in...๐ This spell caster will be host to Runes, collectables that grant you various unique effects, with benefits and penalties to your Goblin Maid's stats!
To acquire Runes in our next update, complete levels with at least a 50% objective completion. You will unlock one Rune per level completed! โ
When you've successfully cleaned a level up to 50% or higher, a new reward screen will appear after you use the punch clock in the Main Hub! There are three level completion thresholds for this reward screen in total:
1๏ธโฃ For 50% level completion, one reward option will be offered to you.
2๏ธโฃ For 75% level completion, two reward options will be offered to you.
3๏ธโฃ For 100% level completion, three reward options will be offered to you.
For example, if you complete a level to 100%, you will unlock one Rune but have three Rune options to select from... decision time, Goblins!
Once you've unlocked a Rune, head to the new window in the Hub Area to equip it for the next level. All Runes have a five-level durability, which decreases by one each time you finish a level with the Rune equipped. You can have up to three Runes equipped at one time, making for some awesome combos!
Each Rune in our upcoming Runed It! Update has varied effects and stats, some with both positive and negative stat effects. You'll have to select Runes based on the level you are cleaning, if you're cleaning solo or in a Goblin squad, and sometimes... based on your skill level of certain tasks you'll perform (goblin maid skill issue).
In our upcoming update, there will be 15 total Runes to unlock, and we're excited to reveal some of them in detail today!

Slime dispensers generate additional slimes
Slimes splash blood around when dying from over-absorption
Stat(s):
Hands Throw Force +50%
Regular Slime Sweeps +100%
Slimop Cleaning Speed +30%
Lord of the Slimes, it has a ring to it! With the Slime Lord Rune, you'll be granted two effects when equipped. The Slime dispenser will provide more Slimes, but you'll have to watch when your Slimes are filled with blood, as they'll create more blood if used after they have died!
This Rune also comes with three positive stat effects, increasing the force of your throw, Slimop cleaning speed, and your Regular Slime sweep.

Fragile objects do not break
Stat(s):
Sprint Speed +20%
Walk Speed -50%
Jump Height +20%
We know one of the most annoying moments is when you carry a pot across the map, only for it to break right before you reset it ๐ญ If you can relate, then the Hot Feet Rune is for you!
This makes pots and other fragile objects unbreakable to you and comes with buffs to Sprint Speed and Jump Height, but it comes with a negative Walk Speed effect, so you'd better get running! ๐โโ๏ธ

Teleport from one altar to another
Stat(s):
Slimop Cleaning Speed +20%
Managon Range -30%
We're really excited for our Speedrunning community to discover the Teleporter Rune- some records are about to get broken! ๐ With this Rune, you'll be able to teleport from one altar point to another, quickly zooming across the map. The cleaning speed of your Slimop will also be increased!
A debuff to your Managon's Range means you'll need to get closer to torches, plants, and other items to use your Mana!

Starts level with a Fire Slime already equipped
Using a Fire Slime damages nearby allies
Stat(s):
Fire Slime Sweeps +30%
With the Firefighter Rune, you'll spawn into a level with a Fire Slime on your mop, ready for cleaning, and your Fire Slime will sweep up 30% more blood. However, if you die, you won't respawn with a Fire Slime again, so clean carefully!
Also, show your love to your friends by ragebaiting them, as the use of your Fire Slime will damage nearby friends, pure chaos! ๐ฅ
This only scratches the surface of the upcoming Runes System, which contains 15 varied Runes, all with different attributes for you to explore soon. Overall, we're looking forward to seeing how the Rune System affects your gameplay in our next update!
We'll be watching as you discover deadly combos of Runes for speedy cleaning... we need maximum cleaning efficiency, Goblins, as the adventurers are waiting for you to finish cleaning up!

The new cosmetic additions below will arrive in our next update... ๐ Each of the cosmetic item additions below is a suggested design from our Kickstarter backer community, from the pledge role of โจGoblin Fashionโจ or higher!
We're thrilled with these new cosmetics and want to thank our Kickstarter backers for their support and ideas! As we progress through our Steam Early Access period, we'll be adding more cosmetics based on Kickstarter Design suggestions.
