Happy Year of the Horse!

This month included a week-long break for Chinese New Year, but I still managed to finish the 30 portraits and some unit combat animations mentioned last month. Despite rapid AI advances in art, I want to keep Chaos Front's visual style consistent, so I'm sticking with traditional methods. The silver lining: the project's art assets are now about 80% complete. Every long road has an end.

This month, let's introduce the Tech Accord in the Chaos Front universe.

As the war between the Solaris Union and colonial rebels entered its final stages, scientists across the solar system feared centuries of human knowledge would be lost. Under a plan called Project Foundation, hundreds of ark ships departed the solar system, scattering across the galaxy to preserve that knowledge.

These scientists organized into a galaxy-wide organization named Tech Accord, complete with secret codes, hidden sanctuaries, academic exchange systems, and ranking tiers. Respected across colonies and galactic powers alike, they provide services to governments in exchange for various privileges.

The greatest among them are known as Archmagi — each one mastering one-third of all human scientific knowledge. Two Archmagi appear in the Chaos Front story: Trurly and Mo Ban.

Trurly is eccentric and unpredictable, occasionally intervening in mortal affairs with an almost playful attitude.

Mo Ban is obsessed with AI and robotics, ignoring the taboos that arose after the Great Machine Rebellion. He believes humans shouldn't compete with one another — machines should do all the work, while humans simply rule as masters.

Players familiar with Chaos Galaxy may recognize that the Mozi Order, centuries later, is the organization built by Mo Ban's disciples carrying on his legacy.

That's all for now — See you in next month's development log!
