Thank you for having been part of this amazing ride so far! Exploding Judo had a very successful launch, but now it's time to look forward to what's going to come!
Here's a short summary and appetizer for the future!
Three new characters will be added to the game in the course of 2026. The first will be the Blastophage in Q1 2026! The character is already feature-complete and undergoing internal testing before release. This unorthodox fighter will bring some chaos to the roster for sure!
Its moveset is based on the Haemophage and Noctiphage NPCs from Schwarzerblitz's story mode, with several twists, new moves and a vast assortment of projectiles. You can have a sneak peek at its moveset in this YouTube video!
Two more characters are currently in their planning stages - codename "F!Lizard" and "Guest?", coming around Q2 and Q3 2026 respectively. "Guest?" is not confirmed yet and might be replaced with another character if the negotiations do not go as planned.
Each character will come with 3 costumes, their own arcade ending and matching lore archive entries - you can look forward to it!
Each character will receive a moveset tutorial and a combo trial to teach the basics (and more!) about them. These trials will be also used to unlock new costumes for each characters. Boss characters won't be getting these, with the exception of Random, since they don't have meaningful tech.
