Sonorous Update February 2026

Dear all,

It has been quite a while and I believe I owe all of you interested some update on the current developments.

I have been on parental leave for the past months so my focus shifted a bit. But no worries, Sonorous has constantly been in the works (just a tad slower).

The recent months I had quite a bit of struggle in terms of performance and spent a considerable time investigating. Turned out, there has been considerable degradation in DX12 performance which led me to the decision to revert back to DX11. I did a complete overhaul on the resources management and environment instancing which gave me a considerable boost!

But there are also so new additions! On request, Sonorous now features a marine support animal. It got trapped by some fishing nets and developed a bond with you to show its gratitude for saving it.

Other than that, I decided to revise the movements and behaviours of the enemy vehicles as these appeared quite "clunky." Additionally, there are two new vehicles! One of them is dedicated to steal the items you worked for so hard!!

Furthermore, I have continued shaping the environments. Amongst that, you will stumble upon a degraded lighthouse! We shall see what mysteries it will hold :)

I now use the next weeks to create some snippets and footage of the new additions and will try to become more active on the social media platforms. In the meantime, please feel free to drop in ideas for the game or any remarks you may have! Your input has helped me so much in the development of this game and I highly appreciate everyone taking the time to share their thoughts!
