Greetings, beloved drones employees!

Some of you may have noticed that our original roadmap indicated an Early Access release in Q4 of 2025. You may also have noticed that this release has not yet occurred. Fear not, as we, your amazing revered powerful humble overseers at Corporate, are here to provide an update!

While you may be disappointed to learn that you can’t play GameShop Simulator - yet - you will be delighted to hear that this is entirely because we’ve been hard at work improving and expanding the game far beyond its original scope. In other words, we’ve applied the same philosophy we expect from all of our minions workers, and are truly giving it 110%.

Here’s just a few of the new and improved features we’re packing into our upcoming Early Access launch:

Bartering and Repairs

Why buy items at full price to make meager margins, when you can pay much less for a used copy and reap greater profits? Visitors to your store will now be able to sell you their used games and consoles, which can be carefully repackaged and sold good-as-new. Of course, no product survives contact with the enemy customer, so you’ll need to make sure they’re in top working condition before putting them on the shelf.

Reservations and Midnight Releases

What’s better than selling someone a new game? Selling them a new game that hasn’t even been released yet! Customers will now ask to reserve copies of highly-anticipated upcoming titles - both in-person and over the phone - to be purchased at an illustrious Midnight Release event. Just be careful how many copies you order; the last thing any enterprising franchisee wants is unsold stock cluttering up their shelves.

Upgraded Electrical System

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we’ve implemented a fuse box to help you keep the lights on and registers running even in the face of electrical disruptions. Each room is on a separate circuit, so take care to keep them all operational… or decide if that lavish breakroom we’ve provided you with is necessary after all.

Expanded Difficulty Scaling

We’re excited to share that we’ll be providing you with the option for every employee’s dream: even more work. You’ll be able to adjust the difficulty of running your shop to suit your own playstyle, with additional scaling based on their number of staff. Whether you’d like to run a cozy, single-player boutique or a full-fledged multiplayer hellhole emporium, you’ll be able to enjoy the virtues of retail life as you see fit.

Food & Drink

As your gracious rulers Corporate management, we’ve also granted you all the ability to enjoy various snacks, beverages, and other tasty treats during your state-mandated lunch breaks. Consuming these items will grant benefits to help you survive assist your customers with a smile. We’ve even added a proper restroom to care for your own needs! You see? Corporate really does care.

All of this and more is coming to GameShop Simulator for our new Early Access target in early 2026. Keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks - and don’t forget to wishlist!

-Your faithful Corporate overlords executive team

During that time, we received a ton of feedback about the game, all of which carried one central theme: the concept was fun, and the game showed a lot of promise, but it needed more time to cook. So, we got back in the kitchen, and we've been cooking. As a completely independent studio opera…Community6 Mar 2026What's Next For GameShop Simulator?Thank you to everyone who checked out the GameShop Simulator demo during Steam Next Fest! Now that the event is over, it's time to take down the demo, reflect on what we've learned, and start working on what comes next. Across all the feedback we received during the demo period, there are two big topics that have stuck out: · Our game has a ton of potential, but... · It also still needs a lot o…
