We Launch in 6 Days! Let’s Talk About the Beat

GRIDbeat! launches in 6 days!

As we get closer, we wanted to share something that took more iteration than almost anything else:

The beat movement system.

On the surface, it’s simple: "Move on the beat."

But making that feel natural, something you don’t have to think about, was much harder than it sounds.

We kept refining it until something clicked.

At a certain point, players stopped thinking about the rhythm entirely. They weren’t reacting anymore.

They were just… moving with it.

That was the moment we knew we had it.

From there, everything else was built to support that feeling:

  • Solving a lockpick plays out like a short drum melody

  • Taking damage subtly disrupts the music

  • Boss patterns flow with the beat

Everything is designed to pull you deeper into the rhythm And when you’re fully locked in?

It just feels right.

That’s the experience we’ve been chasing from day one.
