Heyho everyone,
the time has finally come - our Surviving Deponia Closed Beta Playtest is starting today!
We are incredibly excited to open the doors and let you take the first look at our newest narrative-driven survival experience. Over the past months, the team has put a tremendous amount of work into shaping the game’s systems, flow, and storytelling - and now it’s your turn to jump in and help us make it even better.
Playtest Access & Rollout
Starting today, the playtest will be gradually rolled out to all selected participants.
If you signed up and were selected, you will receive a notification via Steam once the build is available for you to download.
Please note that access may not unlock for everyone at the exact same time - we are releasing it in waves to ensure stability. Additionally to Keyboard and Mouse, Steam Deck and Controller support is integrated. For controller we recommend an Xbox Gamepad.
Language Information
As this is an in-development version, the playtest will be available in English only.
Additional languages - including German and others - are planned for the final release. We appreciate your understanding here, as this allows us to focus on core gameplay and technical improvements during this phase.
Important Notes on Sharing
We kindly ask you to not stream, record, or share any content from the playtest online (YouTube, Twitch, etc).
This version represents an early state of development and does not reflect the final quality or content of the game. Publicly shared footage could easily lead to misunderstandings about the final experience.
Your Feedback Matters
At the end of your playtest session, you will have the opportunity to fill out a survey (in English)
We strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to share your thoughts - whether it’s about gameplay, pacing, technical issues, or overall impressions. Your feedback is the main reason for this playtest in the first place and helps us refine and improve Surviving Deponia.
