Launch Update | New Features and Improvements

With today’s release, we are also launching a new update with added features and improvements. Over the past week, we worked almost nonstop after media outlets and content creators shared helpful ideas and suggestions. Thank you for helping us make Ancient Farm better. Here is the full list of changes and improvements included with today’s launch!

Game Update 1.0.4

Farming and World:

  • Added the ability to re-dig plowed soil - simply use a shovel on already plowed land.

  • Extended the day cycle duration to make gameplay calmer and less rushed.

  • Added time multipliers up to x64, allowing the game to be significantly sped up (e.g., during early gameplay).

  • Rebalanced the amount of resources on the map (sticks, stones, grass, etc.).

  • Crafting: When processing wood into planks, the player now also receives sticks.

Harnesses and Cart Shed:

  • Reworked the cart shed to make it easier to maneuver the ox and attach plows.

  • Improved the harness mechanics - controls are smoother, and the “pulling” feel is much better.

  • Added a notification when the ox runs out of stamina, informing the player to take it to the barn to rest.

Animals and Pens:

  • Added water troughs to pens for automatic watering and feeding of animals.

  • Simply place water and hay inside - animals will now use them on their own, no manual feeding required.

Building and Demolition:

  • Added the ability to demolish buildings.

  • A demolition hammer can be crafted, allowing buildings to be removed and some resources to be recovered.

Economy and Balance:

  • The merchant now uses a dynamic pricing system.

  • The more you sell a given resource, the lower the price you offer.

  • Goods that are not sold increase in value.

  • Minimum and maximum prices have been introduced.

  • Item weights have been rebalanced to better fit gameplay logic.

Animations, Sounds, and UI:

  • Updated some tool sound effects.

  • Improved item animations (watering jug, hoe, trough).

  • Improved translations in all languages with clearer descriptions of mechanics and items.

  • Updated water jug icons (small/medium/large - each now has a distinct icon).

  • Updated fertilizer device icons (small/medium / large - clearly distinguishable).
