1.0.0.12: Recently Played and Crash fixes

Hello everyone,

This weekend I've got an update to fix a reported issue where CC shows up in the recently played list in Steam whenever it is run. This was never the intention and violates one of the core principles of CC by not staying out of the way.

The issue is caused by the Steam Workshop integration. CC would connect to Steam to get the list of all subscribed workshop profiles as part of its initialization. Unfortunately, Steam registers this as you "playing the game".

So now CC doesn't do that anymore, instead it only updates the list of Workshop profiles when you enter Settings and I've also added a button to the profiles page to invoke a refresh of the profiles.

In addition, this update also has some speculative fixes for a few crashes you guys have reported and a config change that should alert you if you are using an outdated .NET framework.

If you're reading this and are experiencing weird crashes in CC, please make sure you have .NET 4.5.1 installed. Steam should have installed this for you already (it's the reason the app download is 100MB+ instead of just a few MB), but in case that isn't working correctly go here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=42643

Full patch notes:

  • CC no longer updates Steam Workshop items on startup. Only when the Settings window is opened.
  • Added a button to the Profiles settings to "Refresh Workshop Profiles".
  • Fix a crash related to Workshop CacheItems
  • Attempt to fix a "This single-instance application could not connect to the original instance." crash
  • Changed a setting to attempt to notice users if they do not have .NET 4.5.1 installed.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Cheers,
Jacob
