Hello everyone,It's been a while since we published our last Steam post, the one about the release of Rise of Caesar.
We're thrilled to report that Imperiums: Rise of Caesar received an amazing reception and we'd like to thank you for that!
The DLC was quite experimental in several ways and we were a bit nervous about how it would be received. We believed it was a great addition with many exciting improvements, but there was always a chance we could have misjudged it. That's why we're really happy to see that our vision resonated with you, our players! Now, let's take a moment to recap what's been going on over the past six months. Although we haven't posted much, that doesn't mean we haven't been busy; quite the opposite, in fact! We've been working hard on multiple fronts:

  1. We've been continuously improving the base game and DLCs.

  2. We've committed to providing full support for Steam Deck.

  3. Around 80% of our time has been spent on our new game. We've made quite a bit of progress and we can't wait to share more about it!

  4. In our "spare time" we've been laying the groundwork for a new Imperiums DLC.

  5. We've remained dedicated to providing top-notch support and customer service for all of you. Rest assured, that commitment isn't going anywhere.

Since the third and fourth points are still under wraps and the fifth mostly affects players who've encountered issues, let's focus on what we've been working on for Imperiums players. Below is the changelog for the latest update:MAIN IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Full Steam Deck support (issues and CTDs fixed, performance optimizations, and more).

  • Proton support.

  • New sound player implementation (sound should now work on Steam Deck, Proton and for anyone without the "Windows Media Player" system feature installed).

  • Functionality to switch monitors (You can now switch the monitor the game runs on by pressing Shift + Windows + left/right arrow).

  • A new automatic tooltip that informs players about the currently playing song.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Balance adjustments for plagues (in DLCs).

  • Improvements to both Rise of Caesar scenarios (balancing and minor issue fixes).

  • A new warning message that alerts players when a new game window is loading and may take a moment.

  • Enhanced experimental Portuguese translations.

  • Improved experimental Korean translations.

  • Polish translation improvements (thanks to Anna).

  • All projects upgraded to .NET Framework 4.8.1.

AI IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Multiple AI improvements, including better handling of supplies, weather (in Rise of Caesar DLC), economy, and tactics.

BUGS AND ISSUES FIXED:

  • Fixed an issue where the popup for influencing a tile was missing.

  • Corrected an issue where the same faction's flag appeared for newly emerging players.

  • Adjusted diplomacy window illustration sizes.

  • Fixed a memory leak.

  • Resolved a rare CTD.

  • Fixed several minor issues.

While the changelog may not seem extensive, believe us when we say that some of these items took quite a bit of time and effort! We've also received many questions about our next game.
Although we don't expect to reveal much this year, we plan to launch the game's Steam page in Q1 of next year. Since Steam has strict rules about "cross-promotion" of your own games, we encourage you to follow our Steam developer page to stay updated. Following us there ensures you'll be the first to know when we reveal more about the new game, which is shaping up to be a significant step forward in every aspect compared to Imperiums. Finally, we'd like to ask for a small favor — if you'd like to support us, please consider checking out our DLCs (there are some great bundles available!), telling your friends about Imperiums, leaving a review on Steam, or following our Steam developer page. Every bit of support helps and is truly appreciated!Thank you for sticking with us!Yours,
Kube Games team.
