This patch fixes a lot of things and adds new content and polishes up the game even more!
🎄 🎁 Content Update
- Added Skull Rock Island to Sharkie's Cove, and Zeusy makes his appearance here! This improves continuity with the world designs across the game.
- Restored Motion Blur to Georgie's camera which was disabled in the original releases due to a engine bug. This has now been addressed.
🐛 Polishing Up and bug fixes!
- Added glow lighting effect to Fishies, illuminating the area around them.
- Added scene decoration and finishings to Sharkie's Cove
- Fixed baked lighting in Sweety's Spaces.
- Fixed lighting on Burrow and his molehills.
- Improved lighting and specular highlights in Gingy's Glacier.
- Reduced memory usage when loading new areas (All)
- Reduced runtime memory footprint by removing redundant code and package dependencies (All)
- Reduced depth of field blur effect when underwater, as it made navigation slightly difficult before. (All)
- Increased shader performance and improved texture streaming (All)
- Fixed black shader glitched box appearing on water reflections from the sun in Home Turf. (Nintendo Switch)
- Fixed incorrect coloring of houses in home Turf. (All)
- Fixed potential random crash that could occur when leaving worlds and re-entering quickly. (Nintendo Switch, XBOX)
- Improved performance on World Select / File Select screens due to texture depth buffer issues. (All)
- Significantly improved framerates throughout (Nintendo Switch, Mitigation for All)
- Improved object and enemy collisions (All)
- Improved Water rendering performance (Nintendo Switch)
- Fixed glitched eye textures that could appear quickly when first opening the Pause Menu. (Nintendo Switch)
- Fixed seam between sand and ocean under huts in Sharkie's Cove.
- Improved water in Glitter Cave
- Significantly improved texture resolutions and scaling in Magey's Mountain
- Fixed bounding box for climbable ship masts on Ghost Ship, making the collision much more accurate.
- Fixed bug with timer in world not compiling overall time spent in that world unless a new time session surpassed it, giving highly inaccurate results.
- Fixed bug with close button on Settings menu in-game being out of screen randomly.
- Increased swimming speed.
- Fixed minor performance issue related to non-static objects in Sharkie's Cove.
- Fixed null reference checks in Sharkie's Cove.
- Fixed overload of debug checks in Sharkie's Cove.
- Fixed glitch with occlusion in Sharkie's Cove showing rocks / cliffs improperly.
- Fixed bug with the sharky crewmate eventually becoming off-centered from the crow's nest due to an animation oversight.
- Added motion blur and minor distortion when swimming underwater
- Fixed bug with interaction with Sharkie's first mate not always triggering due to bounding box error
- Fixed lighting of Whaley's Tongue.
- Fixed Sweety's Spaces Mini-map being too zoomed out.
- Fixed unobtainable blue coins in Sweety's Spaces.
- Improved coloring and lighting of wood textures of Rattie's Lair.
- Enabled GPU instance for Rattie's Lair, improving performance.
- Fixed delay restarting Sharkie's Cove music when ending the loop.
- Added Ghosties to the Ghost Ship in Sharkie's Cove.
- Fixed offsetfloating tree in sharkies cove by entrance
- Bushes in Sharkie's Cove are now animated.
Phew! That's a big ol' list, we know, well done if you read it all, hard work isn't it? Not as hard as making all these changes mind you. These patches are expected to be released for Nintendo Switch and XBOX by the end of the year. This is also the version that PlayStation 5 players will get on day one of release!
