The ONLINEAGEDDON Update drops this Thursday!
Finally you can play HELLFRONT with your friends (or enemies!) over the Internet!
Of course, you can still play the game offline just as before, but honestly we've had some much fun when during our online play sessions the past few weeks that I can tell you for sure that the online mode adds a whole new dimension to HELLFRONT.
PROGRESSION & LEADERBOARDS
This update will be use separate save files and leaderboards. This means that after the update, the existing best times are wiped from leaderboards and you get to play the game again from the first world.
The reason we decided to replace the leaderboards and save files is because the update makes some minor tweaks to the gameplay, and therefore it would be unfair to share leaderboards.
But don't worry, the old leaderboards and save files are still there. You can access them using the Classic Version (read about it below).
PvP LADDER
The ONLINEAGEDDON Update comes with a new PvP Leaderboard and ranking system (or ladder) where you can see your skill compared to other players. This is how the new PvP ranking system works:
Players are ranked by skill points (SP).
When you win a match, your gain SP. When you lose a match, you lose SP.
Winning over a player with high skill gives you more SP than winning over a player with low skill.
Losing to players with low skill will cost you more SP than losing to a player with high skill.

CLASSIC VERSION
If for any reason you I prefer the old HELLFRONT without the ONLINEAGEDDON Update, it is still available as a Beta branch. Right click HELLFRONT in your Steam Library, select Properties then go to the Betas tab and select "classic" version in the Beta Participation dropdown. The game is now back to the way it was before, with the leaderboards and your save file progress intact.
