We are so, so happy to announce the release of the Afterlove EP Demo as a part of LudoNarraCon!
We at Pikselnesia are honoured to be carrying this game, Fahmi’s vision, forward to release. He loved this story, and he loved Jakarta, and we all miss him terribly. We want to do right by him and his vision.
Getting this far has been the result of a lot of love and a lot of work and we wanted to take a moment to reflect, introduce ourselves, and share with you all what working on Afterlove EP, and carrying on Fahmi's legacy has meant to us.
Giri (Lead Programmer)
For me, working on the Afterlove EP is a way of my gratitude to Fahmi. He connects us in every way to be a ragtag bunch of misfits. I'm not a great storyteller myself, but he helped me to realise that every person has their own best way to express their capability into one great story. Afterlove EP embodies that idea, a bundle of contributions from each of us to deliver his final story.
Dany (Game Director and Programmer)
Working on Afterlove EP is such a roller coaster for me. Fahmi and I were the same age and pretty much from the same area. I often butted heads with Fahmi on some aspects of the game, but working with him showed me how clear his visions for this game are, and I love the collaborative spirit of it. It makes me want to help him create this art faster. To get it out to people. The team is also very supportive and communicative, and maybe that is why we keep going even after he's gone. I just want to make him think "Ah, I was right to choose those guys to work with, I can leave it to them to complete the game.
Soyatu (Lead Art)
For me, it's my great journey of my life. its my first time working on game world, and its challenging! it's an honor to be invited to involved. Big thanks to Fahmi who made us united.
And Fahmi said back then "you can draw anything you want" is super love energy.
I personally think, all of team are artists and we are creating a work of art (but also a great game).
I hope Pikselnesia’s messages are delivered to the players! Thank you so much.
Ivor (Game Producer)
Working on Afterlove EP for me is a chance! A chance to work on an Indie Game! A chance to work with amazing people around the world! A chance to challenge myself! And of course, a chance to work on Fahmi's masterpiece!
Pinga (Background Artist)
Working on Afterlove EP means to be on a wonderful journey. It's been my first step in games or working in the industry ever, and getting to know a lot of good and inspiring folks.
Though now, it also means to continue what Fahmi has shared and taught. Not enough words can tell how I adore him as a lead and creative person. I wish he can be here, involved in all these processes.
Sasha (Lead Narrative Designer)
Fahmi saw within me a blooming light and sought to nurture it. He confided in me his vision of his perfect game, and trusted me to help him make it come true. We sacrificed parts of ourselves to perfect that image, and thus his departure devastated me so. Completing his masterpiece is the one thing within my capability to make sure he lives on in the hearts of many.
Thank you so much for coming on this journey with us and we hope you enjoy the demo! There is more to come and we can't wait to tell you about it.
