Greetings, Champions!

Prepare for our biggest update yet! v0.935.27 brings a wealth of new content and long-awaited features, including the challenging Raid System, a brand new tier of equipment, a revamped itemization system, and a thrilling conclusion to the captivating story of A Hero's Rest. Sharpen your swords, stock up on potions, and get ready to embark on legendary adventures!

Patch Notes Version v0.935.27:

Prepare for Epic Adventures: Raids Arrive!

New Quest Type: Raids

  • Face the ultimate test with 6 challenging Raids, each featuring a unique boss, requirements, and legendary rewards.
  • Assemble your most powerful party of 4 Heroes and meet the Raid's entry criteria to face the challenge.
  • Utilize Royal Tokens to dispatch your raiding party and conquer the Raid for even greater rewards and subsequent Raids.
  • Strategize your approach – re-roll Raid difficulty and rewards using Focus Gems for the perfect challenge.
  • Witness your Heroes embark on their Raid – follow their progress and await their triumphant return (or face the consequences of failure!).
  • Raids offer the ultimate rewards – legendary loot, powerful Mythical item upgrades, prestigious Medals with unique bonuses, and epic Titles for your Heroes.
  • Conquer Raids repeatedly to test your might and acquire ever-greater spoils.
  • Learn more about Raids with the new Compendium pages.

Unveiling Mythical Gear: A New Peak in Power

New Item Rarity: Mythical

  • Ascend to new heights with Mythical Gear, the pinnacle of equipment for your Heroes.
  • Acquire Mythical Gear exclusively from conquering Raids – Tier 4, best-in-slot equipment awaits!
  • Mythical Gear boasts a unique colour scheme and significantly boosts your Heroes' stats.
  • Similar to Legendary items, Mythical Gear cannot be upgraded with Regrade Stones.
  • Crafting Mythical Gear through traditional means is extremely unlikely.

Itemization 2.0: A Refined Experience

Items 2.0 & Hero Upgrade Logic Overhaul

  • We've revamped the entire item system to provide a clearer and more balanced experience.
  • Items now accurately reflect their worth based on quality – higher quality within the same tier reigns supreme.
  • Heroes prioritize higher quality items of previous tiers when evaluating potential upgrades, preventing illogical swaps.
  • Item values across all tiers have been recalibrated to reflect this system. Expect broken and normal items to be less effective compared to higher quality lower-tier items, especially Epics and Legendaries.
  • Heroes are more likely to keep Legendary gear when considering upgrades.
  • Once Heroes surpass the 65 CR range, they become less likely to complain about their equipment altogether.
  • Regrading has been reworked to enhance all item stats instead of adding a single new stat.
  • A chance for partial upgrades exists – items may receive stat boosts without a quality increase, allowing for further improvement.
  • New upgrade effects and sounds add a touch of flair to the enhancement process.
One-handed weapons and off-hands have had their stats halved to align with their two-handed counterparts. Shields remain unaffected.

Crafting Convenience: Automatic Crafting

New Automatic Crafting Slots

  • Sit back and relax with the new Automatic Crafting system!
  • The Innkeeper and Apothecary gain crafting slots as their stations level up.
  • Utilize these slots to automatically craft items as they are purchased, provided you have the necessary materials.
  • Crafting triggers whenever your stock dips below 15 items, ensuring a well-supplied inventory.
  • The crafter prioritizes crafting missing items, preventing unnecessary clutter.
  • Reserved items for specific Heroes are taken into account, ensuring their consumables are restocked.

Embrace Your Core: Enhanced Attributes

Core Attribute Traits

  • Core attributes now have a greater impact on Hero development.
  • Each Core Attribute boasts new Traits, adding depth and strategic variety to your Hero roster.
  • Combine these effects with Gear proficiencies to create truly unique Hero builds.
  • Mastering team composition will be vital for conquering the new Raids!

A Fitting Conclusion: Achievements & Story

New Achievements & Plot Conclusion

  • Seven new platform-specific Achievements celebrate your Raid victories.
  • New events bring the game's story to a conclusion, complete with its own platform-specific Achievement.
  • Existing story events have been polished for a smoother narrative flow.

Quest Dynamics & More

Quest Changes & Honorable Mentions

  • New quest dynamics add a fresh layer of strategy to your quest selection.
  • Slay quests remain the top earner for Hero XP and Gold, propelling your Heroes' growth.
  • Gather quests offer increased material profit due to a lower listing cost, but come with slightly lower Gold and XP rewards for your Heroes.
  • A new Threat bar keeps you informed of your proximity to a boss encounter during Slay quests.
  • Tooltips have been updated to reflect these changes.
  • The King has grown more patient, offering "Grace Days" when your town's reputation is "At Risk." This allows you time to recover and avoid negative consequences. Check the reputation tooltip for details.

Changes & Improvements

Crafters:

  • Innkeeper and Apothecary base experience per craft has been reduced to 32/64/100 (down from 48/78/100).
  • Potion Distilleries are no longer unique and no longer provide Debilitating Potions as bonus potions.
  • Debilitating Potions have been removed due to redundancy and replaced with Lesser and Greater Potions of Fortune, increasing Hero's earned Gold during adventures by 25% and 50% respectively.
  • Potions of Confidence and Resistance have received new icons due to the addition of the new potions.
  • Lesser Potion of protection is now a tier 2 Potion up from tier 1.
  • A new mutator allows you to adjust how many automatic Crafting slots crafters receive upon leveling up.
  • Pop-ups for station level-up buttons are now larger and more readable.
  • New Notifications will highlight crafters with unused perks.
  • Improved visuals for the detail panel.
  • Quests now display objective icons while browsing your inventory.
  • Crafting recipes now display icons when browsing your inventory.
  • The Weapon Master's Class Menu has improved visuals.
  • Raid Gold rewards contribute to the Innkeeper's profit and Season Summary score.

General:

  • Buttons for starting or canceling the tutorial in "Letter from Mr. George" have been swapped.
  • Streamlined and improved tooltips throughout the game for better readability and understanding.
  • Enhanced UI elements for improved readability and comprehension.
  • The Hero List Menu now displays CR and current quests for Heroes in the General List.
  • The Hero Population icon is now a button allowing you to switch between Hero Population and current town population.
  • Improved aesthetics and performance of the Hero List Menu.
  • The Main Menu Logo has been changed.

Gameplay:

  • Trader's Mystery Box rewards have been increased, and the cost has been reduced. It now features a rare chance for a Jackpot.
  • Increased the maximum number of Heroes that can appear in town simultaneously at different reputation levels.
  • Legendary Imminent Threats now provide Royalty Tokens in addition to their original rewards.
  • Holding down the ALT key (default) displays all Hero name tags. This key can be changed in the keybinds menu.
  • A new option in the pause menu allows you to toggle the permanent display of Hero name tags.
  • Name tags now include the Hero's class icon.
  • Heroes automatically equip titles earned through the Medal reward system. An option to disable this feature is available in the settings menu.
  • When a Hero levels up, a report appears in the Report Box.
  • Improved how Heroes choose their food and potions.
  • The effects of the INT Core Attribute on Royal Tokens have been reduced.
  • Increased visitor approval gain from fulfilling orders. This effect decays slower as well.
  • Changes made to previous appearances of Vera Suzuran lore.

Bug Fixes:

  • Removed a comma from the Core Difficulty Settings tooltip.
  • Fixed a bug where Hero behaviour in the Hero list wouldn't update while paused.
  • Fixed a bug where visitors stopped spawning when the maximum number of Heroes in town was reached.
  • Fixed a bug with the talent that provides a bonus chance to craft Legendary items.
  • Fixed a bug where respecing a Hero sometimes resulted in higher quality Training Weapons than intended.
  • Fixed a bug where the Hero Manager wouldn't display the Hero with the lowest CR accurately.
  • Fixed a bug where Normal (Blue) Threats sometimes penalized the player more than intended.
  • Fixed a bug during crafting that caused players to receive the wrong amount of items.
  • Fixed a bug where Heroes weren't receiving extra Gold while questing off-screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the Trade Route tooltip displayed incorrect information.
  • Fixed various minor bugs.

Happy Questing!

We hope you enjoy this exciting update to A Hero's Rest!
