New Map - Walled City

Hello there Runners! In today’s Devlog we would like to talk a little bit more about the new map called Walled City. You were often asking about the new map and now we would like to share more details about it! We are planning to release a new map by the end of June.

Here is a couple of words from where we took inspiration:

World Backgroun

Once, Kowloon Walled City was a labyrinthine community teeming with dense buildings, narrow alleys, and vibrant life. Its inhabitants created a self-sufficient micro-society bustling with energy and stories aplenty. However, as the impacts of global warming intensified, rising sea levels caused catastrophic floods that engulfed much of the world. Cities and civilizations were submerged, but some structures survived, including that resilient urban symbol—the Kowloon Walled City.

Beneath the Tide
The face of the world was completely altered. The water's surface, like glass, reflected the lifeless skies above, and towering relics became the islands of the new world. Kowloon Walled City, with its sturdy construction and unique geographical position, became a haven for survivors. As time passed, it came to resemble more a solitary island, standing tall amidst the expansive watery realm.

Life Anew on the Rooftops

In this new era, the rooftops of the city and the bridges connecting them became the new territories for survival. Residents reinvented their way of living to adapt to life in this elevated world. They established gardens on rooftops, collected rainwater, and even engineered rudimentary wind and solar devices to generate electricity. Between rooftops, people built temporary bridges out of ropes, planks, and recycled materials, forming an intricate network for parkour.

Parkour—A Means of Survival

In this reshaped world by the flood, parkour became more than a sport—it was an essential skill for survival. People used parkour to transport goods, exchange information, and even trade between buildings. Young daredevils showcased their abilities and bravery by leaping and climbing through these architectural remnants. They became the explorers and heroes of legend in the new age.

Beacon of Civilization

Even as the outside world lay submerged and forsaken, Kowloon Walled City stood as a beacon of hope—a resilient community persisting in a post-apocalyptic world. Over time, it became not just a hub for material resources but a lighthouse for cultural and knowledge preservation. The people living there, despite various challenges, created a new way of life, providing hope and inspiration for future generations.
