This is a major release that includes a more usable menu, a 4K Camera and a massive performance improvement 🔥

Performance now 10X Better

We spent some time doing performance optimization for high-poly meshes and high-res textures. Now Sketchbox should run smoothly with meshes up to ~1M tris (used to be ~100K).
Great for 3D scans and photogrammetry. Even when you’re not using high-poly meshes, you’ll find save is now close to instant.

Share 4K images with Camera

Many of you asked for an easier way to share Sketchbox projects to those without HMDs and now you can now save 4K images using the Camera. They are saved to C:\Users\<your-name>\Documents\Sketchbox\Screenshots.

Better Menu Design

Our new menu is now much faster to use for novices and pros. Also — prettier. The controllers have also been updated so they’re more visible.

Much easier to use

* Visual Guides for Snapping Lines
* The new guides make the line tool much easier to use. Part of our continued improvements to our grid and snapping system.

Other Improvements

* We now support sub-folders for 3D Model imports 📂 — just drag and drop your folders to “/Sketchbox/Import/Mesh/”
* We now support transparent GLTFs, helpful for AR design
* Left-handed mode 👋
* Option to skip account creation (we heard you, Steam and Oculus reviewers 👌)
* We now officially support Windows 7️⃣& 8️⃣
* Minor Bug Fixes🐛

Community13 Feb 2019Massive Release: Cross Platform MultiplayerThis is by far the biggest and most exciting Sketchbox release ever. We spent the last 6 months building real-time collaboration for Sketchbox, which lets up to 16 people, on any VR headset, design together with built in VOIP. Many of our beta testers have replaced in person meetings, with Sketchbox meeting. You can now act out interactions in VR, without writing any code, using Wizard Mode. We…Game update31 Jul 2018Release: Text & Copy Between ScenesText Input Definitely our most requested feature, you can now add text to any scene. Text will behave exactly like any other object, which means it can be snapped, resized and grouped. Comfort Mode For our users that are susceptible to motion sickness, we've added comfort mode, which applies an FOV limiting effect when moving around the scene, much like in Google Earth. It is off by default and…Community25 May 2018Release: Scale for ModelsOver the last two weeks we focused on scale. And I’m excited to announce that you can now import models with the correct scale and see the dimensions of a model. Import Models with Scale When importing a model into Sketchbox (GLTF, OBJ or FBX) Sketchbox will read the model file, and import the model with whatever units were in the file (mm, cm, m, km, in or ft). Using ‘Model Settings’ you can c…
