Hey Everyone,

Tonight, we've got an optimization-focused patch in store for everyone. As well as reducing CPU workload, we've also got some back-end improvements to our netcode, in our quest for the best competitive netcode of any FPS. Game on!

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Increased network sendrates & improved prioritization system
  • Added new descriptive interact icon, instead of "!"
  • When in spectator mode, you no longer see the annoying desaturation effect of the player that you're spectating
  • Improved appearance of various particle systems (smoke grenade, carepackage)

Bug fixes

  • Swapping between 1st/3rd person spectator mode now works again
  • Improved particle system performance
  • Improved physics performance
  • Improved various animator-related performance issues
  • The server now restarts/ends the round properly if AI are the only players alive
  • Fixed Vsync setting not being respected
  • Fixed bug which could cause the server & spectator mode to lag if you joined the round late/rejoined the match

Weekly Cup 39
This week's weekly cup will not be played on Friday, we'll be wishing everyone a merry Christmas instead! Once we've finalized a time for the next weekly cup, it'll be posted as an article on our website here. (Potentially early next week, if not, definitely next Friday)

As always, don't forget to follow Down To One on Twitter, and if you'd like Steam notifications for when matches are starting, don't forget to join the Let's Play Down To One Steam group.
