Hello community,

We are ever so sorry for having kept you waiting, but believe us - we were doing our best to be able to offer you lots of new content and as many fixes as possible. Without further ado, please welcome the new and improved Dead Effect 2!

This update raises the level cap to number 14, which means 5 brand-new levels! There’s a lot of changes and additions in the coop, too (like joining mid-game, in-game chat, or continual playing), plus we’ve implemented fan-made Russian subtitles. Below is a list of all the tweaks, fixes and additions featured in the update – feast your eyes for a bit before you get back to slashing zombies, mutants and other baddies. Enjoy!

WHAT’S FIXED:

CO-OP:
- Improved the online game browser (added info about difficulty, player count and progress of the game)
- Chat in the lobby (sending message after pressing the space bar)
- Wrong death screams for players
- Synchronization of the codes for hacking minigames
- Fixed players spawning into each other
- Better balanced enemies – adjusted numbers and difficulty
- Fixed wrong synchronization of enemy numbers in Biohazard

CHARACTERS:
- 3PV animation tweaks – gun-holding positions, face expressions, shooting expressions
- Model skin tweaks

AI ENEMIES + NPCs:
- Skin tweaks
- AI soldier behaviour improved (they cover better, they are more accurate, they cooperate when moving between obstacles)
- Delta soldiers with shotguns move in closer
- Increased health
- Ninjas have decreased health, but their attacks are more deadly

WEAPONS, IMPLANTS, GEAR:
- Aim position tweaks
- Codex compatibility for special implants (Wrestler's heart)
- Ammo refill before the mission start refills grenades too
- Sorting items in the gear and implant inventory

UI + CONTROLS:
- Mouse smoothing and acceleration - can be now disabled in Options (move the slider all the way to the left)
- Full screen glitches (unclickable text boxes, pads etc.)
- Changed the selection sound for Main menu and Options
- Wrong scale for the Mission Summary in some full-screen resolutions
- Minor GUI fixes

ACHIEVEMENTS:
- "I can haz no deathz" in coop
- Global achievements for fully upgrading weapons - require buying upgrades of legendary (golden) or mythical (purple) weapons. (It won't apply to weapons you have previously upgraded. Sorry!)
- Achievements for getting gear and implant sets
MISC BUGS + GLITCHES:
- “Technical assistance needed” mission – the damaged electric panel can be now hacked even in combat
- Fixed wrong secret orb count in some generic missions
- Fixed position of several message tablets that were inaccessible or hidden too well.
- Fixed the credit position in "Showers don't work" mission
- Fixed the door locking in “Saved in a freezer” mission

WHAT’S ADDED:

GENERAL:
- 5 new story missions (level cap raised to 14)
- New environmental set in the new story missions
- 3 new Survival and Biohazard missions
- 2 new generic missions with different quests
- New heavy weapons
- New unique bossfight “Sentinel of Death”
- Missions can be now started solo in the multiplayer mode and others can join you later.
- Russian translation (the language switch button is in Options)
- Added flashlight (default key "F")
- Grenade drops can be looted from killed enemies
- Possibility to quick-sell items by CTRL - clicking in the inventory on the listed item. Just be careful, once sold, Minikin will demand full price for the item!

CO-OP:
- In-game chat during the missions, in summary and shops - default key is 'K' (can be changed in Options)
- Option to allow other players to connect to joinable types of games (Biohazard, Survival, Infestation) started as single player.
- By default, it's now allowed for friends only - can be disabled or set to public in the Game options.
- Multiplayer games are now continual - you will stay connected after returning to the Hub, where the server chooses next mission. Disconnection is possible on the map.
- It's now possible to change mission on the server (leaving the lobby window now allows you to stay connected to the lobby).
- Possibility to join missions that have not been unlocked yet, from invites or from the game browser (doesn’t work for the Story missions).

SPECIAL MISSIONS:
- New game mode “Infestation”
- “Very long duration” option for Survival and Biohazard missions
- Survival mode – added a lot more enemies, it’s much more intense
- Biohazard mode – adjusted the number of waves and enemies – there are a lot more enemies now and at the end of every second wave, there’s a unique boss with a reward.
- Playing on higher difficulties and longer durations (for Survival and Biohazard) - increases chance for better item rewards at the end of the mission.

CHARACTERS:
- New 3PV animations, gun-holding positions
- New 3PV characters unique walking
- New 3PV heavy weapon animation set
- New weapon-holding 3PV animations for Jane
- Polishing aiming with weapons

UI + CONTROLS:
- Anti-aliasing (FXAA2, FXAA3, SMAA) can be set up in Video Settings
- Water Optimization: when setting the shaders to Low, Medium, High
- Possibility to change FOV in Video settings
- Option to adjust the size of UI

WEAPONS, IMPLANTS, GEAR:
- New gear sets and implants + increased item drop rates (including Legendary and Mythical)
- New heavy weapons: Helion, Trinity, Vulcan and Chainsaw
- WW-CI7: added reflective sight dot prototype (visible in the dark)
