Before launching Competitive—our next big update—we wanted our community to have something new and exciting before the Holidays. And what better Winter-themed gift than a new map with an Arctic research base as the setting? As per usual, we also included more bug fixes and optimizations. New map: Arctic
Introducing Arctic, our second post-launch map, featuring a snow-covered landscape, an aurora borealis in the sky, and a sleek interior that’s ready for intense combat scenarios.
Revolters have taken control over an important government research facility, Photonix. The base was built after discovering a cave system filled with exceptional crystals; the core component of the Enforcers' cloaking tech. These crystals play an essential role in the government's military upper hand over others, and the Revolters believe these minerals should be put toward the welfare of humanity, rather than their current violent applications. The raw crystals are mined and processed on the first floor, and the results are then experimented on and made into cloaking gear in the second floor's lab. And finally, on the third floor, the base's crew unwinds from a day's hard work, and enjoy their time off.
