This is our First Milestone on Steam,
In just over 1 month and a half, we've "sold" over 100'000 copies of Sinking Simulator
Many thanks to all of you folks.
The game has been available for years on other platforms such as IndieDB and Gamejolts
If we combine all of the platforms together we get very close to 1 Millions total downloads in the past 4 years.
This is incredible. It is even more incredible knowing we've never spend a dime on any sort of advertisements. It is completely community driven. So I wanted to thanks all of you for your support
It has been suggested to me a couple of time over the years and I am seriously considering the idea.
I wanted to know if people here would be interested by Merchandise themed around Sinking Simulator
Right now, I have a Poll running on my Youtube Channel
Recently, I have been streaming a bit more than usual. I've noticed the Software I use for Streaming "Streamlabs OBS" has tools to setup a Merch store.
Of course, it is not free. It requires me to pay for their premium membership which comes at about 12$ a month (yearly payment, so it's about 144$)
Hence why I wonder if it is worth it.
If it ends up overwhelmingly positive, I will allocate some of the DLC profits to commissions a bunch of Custom Designs and Artworks Exclusive to the Merch Store
In the latest post :DLC And Policies
I've said the money made by the sales of the DLC will be used exclusively for improving the game. However it doesn't apply for the merchs.
The profit from Merch won't be strictly directed toward the game
I will kick start the first year using money from my own pocket.
But then I must make sure the profit that comes out of those are at a minimum paying for the yearly hosting/prime fees and potentially extending it over time if it is favourable
(I am specifying this in order to avoid any sort of confusion.)
I will do my best to remain as transparent as possible.
I do not intent to pay for a second year out of my own pocket.
If the project fails, then it may never come back again
From now on, I will feature a video spotlight at the end of the posts in the Community Updates
Here I will do some shameless promotion for my own Youtube Channel with my latest Stream Timelapse where I tried to simulate the sinking of the Titanic in Real time.
It managed to get very close which is very impressive!
Feel free to share your videos of the game, They may end up featured here!
Thank you again for your support and your time
