Hey all - happy ~1 year anniversary of the demo and thanks to everyone who has played it, followed, wishlisted, or even looked at the game.

Since that release we acquired a publisher who was going to help fund, port, market, and localize Heartworm - so I could make it even better than I expected. I recruited a team of four really talented and passionate game devs to help me, and we worked for about 6 months.

Unfortunately, as of last week, our publisher has decided to terminate our contract due to financial issues on their end, and as it stands we need a publishing agreement to finish Heartworm. I am working on that, and in communication with some possible partners, but this was really unexpected and now we are taking a huge financial hit.

I really want to keep my team, and I need to be able to support them financially to do that, so I have decided to launch a Kickstarter soon. I am posting the presave link below, and I will post again when it's live. None of this is ideal for us but I am going to do whatever I have to to release this game. If you can and want to help it would be appreciated in ways I cannot describe, and if you can't but can spread the word that would be seriously appreciated too.

Happy to answer any questions here or via DM.

Game update22 Jul 2026Minor bug fix - Involuntary movement bug finally fixed- Fixed a rare but very annoying and game breaking issue that only affected some users, where the character would move in circles/on their own. This bug was extremely difficult to catch because I was never able to reproduce it on my own. When a player commented about it recently, I decided to take another look since it had been a while. Heartworm uses Unity's new Input System, and I saw that we…Game update10 Oct 2025Unity Security Update/Small Bug Fix PatchHi all, Due to the recently found potential security vulnerability in some Unity versions ( ) I had to update the engine version, so that is the main focus of this build. I don't believe the game was effected, but I updated just to be safe. I did some testing, but there is the possibility that this introduces unexpected issues. I hope it's not the case but please let me know if you find anythin…Game update2 Oct 2025Save/Load HotfixAn issue was reported where sometimes loading the game would lead to a black screen. A player submitted their save file and I was able to solve the issue - turns out there was a minor reference error I had missed when adding the new camera mod. This hot fix should solve it. Thanks, Vincent
