Welcome Presidents!
It’s been an exciting release day! Hopefully, you managed to reach the election and even get re-elected! On the development end, we have spent the last few hours working on fixing bugs and trying to create a more balanced experience.
The things we are working on:
- The game has an unbalanced learning curve and very high difficulty - We’re currently trying to make the game much less punishing while keeping the challenge for players who already figured out all the tricks and starts.
- Map has a few bugs - Some countries were left behind in the process of assigning them neighbors. We’re fixing their relationships with others while working on the disappearing UI elements and better explanations of how to unlock certain functionalities on the Map
- Project trees can be defunded endlessly - We’re aware this is happening and are looking into what’s causing the problem. Hopefully, we will be able to offer solutions very quickly.
- The President’s private notes can jump scare you from time to time - Some laws you signed break the feature and instead of progressing, you are forced to fester with the emptiness of the President’s private notes. We’re working on this, so you can continue your playthrough without the necessity to reload the game.
- Opening cutscene breaks the game - some versions of Windows have trouble with video files in Unity. We are looking into a permanent solution, but at the moment you can look into downloading and installing the Media Feature Pack from this Microsoft’s site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack
It should fix the videos and allow you to play.
We’re aware of many more things that need our attention, but the entire team is already busy working on solutions.
So with these fixes currently in the works, we also have to acknowledge the mistake we made while explaining what this game is. We never meant to imply a grand strategy game, I Am Your President has always been a narrative strategy with a lot of humor and memes. As we talk more about the game and our goals with it, we will make sure to emphasise this aspect of our game much more.
As we continue to work on the game, we hope you still enjoy playing, send us feedback. The speed with which we can find and start working on fixes is dependent on your vigilant feedback and bug reporting.
