Before we dive into it, thank you to all of our supportive fans for helping us continue to improve the game! We appreciate every bug report and recorded issue that has been sent to us. We are working hard to squash bugs based on which issues are most prevalent in the community.
There is currently a patch in development to stabilize the game and add quality-of-life features we know folks are eager to see. Since stability and reliability are our highest priority for the first update, we want to share some details about what, exactly, we’re doing to make the player experience better.
Before we get into the patch notes, we wanted to address one of the uglier bugs that the community has experienced: getting ejected from the map when switching characters. We’ve done a deep dive into the cause of this issue to ensure we handle it properly.
As many of you know, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue is a physics-based game. Everything from the items in the house to the player themselves are driven by physics constraints. This adds a lot of realism to the experience, but it also opens the door for myriad issues that are not consistently present in each playthrough, like this particular problem.
In this patch, we’re taking the appropriate steps to make sure that we minimize the chances of this happening. Additionally, we’re introducing a system to handle the situation properly if any player manages to find their way out of the world at some point during gameplay.
The next patch will handle this issue and more, but it’s of paramount importance that the patch is also at the quality bar we expect from ourselves and that you all deserve. We are taking the necessary time to investigate, find and resolve issues the proper way so that everyone can be sure to enjoy this game of which we are exceedingly proud.
While we work as quickly as we can to get this patch into your hands, we wanted to provide you with a preview of what’s to come.
