Master Modern Manchester with a firm favourite unit and explore some unique gameplay features in Train Sim World 3: Glossop Line: Manchester – Hadfield & Glossop, out now!

Experience the Class 323 in a new setting around Britain’s northwest, heading out east from Manchester Piccadilly Station along a section of the fabled Woodhead Line through to its current termini at both Hadfield and Glossop.

Along the way is the border between Greater Manchester and Derbyshire, beyond which the three stations at the eastern end lie. This includes Dinting, laid out in a triangle formation to facilitate both Hadfield and Glossop, where cab ends require changing!

But there’s more to do that just driving in this route. Two new and unique gameplay features appear in two Scenarios: ‘On Guard’ and ‘Gossip Line’, where players will experience life as a guard – operating doors and checking passengers’ tickets! A keen eye for good railfan photography is needed in ‘Gossip Line’ to capture the scenery and services that make up this bite-sized, complete end-to-end-to-end line.

You can see these Scenarios in action, along with other points of interest along Glossop Line in the video below:

Services and Layers

The Class 323 gets another outing, this time operating under Northern, which comes to Train Sim World for the first time! Services between Manchester and Hadfield via Glossop run at a rate of 2 trains per hour in addition to depot runs between Manchester and Ardwick Depot, which can include coupling and uncoupling. This popular EMU, first seen in Train Sim World 3: Birmingham Cross-City Line, features everything that made its West Midlands counterpart enjoyable to drive, including the characteristic whine from the traction motors.

A number of AI Class 323 services will also travel out of map to the likes of Crewe, Manchester Airport, Stoke-on-Trent and Liverpool Lime Street.

Players with much of the British Train Sim World back catalogue will be able to see and operate an eclectic mix of alternative services, ranging from freight and ECS movements to nostalgic railtours!

Midland Main Line

  • (Playable) EMT Class 158 ECS movement: Nottingham - Liverpool Lime Street which runs via Ashburys instead of Stockport.
  • (AI) EMT Class 158 at Manchester Piccadilly
  • (AI) EMT HST diversion to Manchester Piccadilly

Railhead Treatment Train

  • (Playable) Seasonal RHTT services between September – November
  • Static placement all year round.

Note: we are aware and are working hard on a fix for one service which currently isn't working as intended. This is as a result of last week's patch and requires a core update. This core update will also resolve the issues players are seeing with services in Southeastern Highspeed from the patch.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Rail Operations Group Class 37/7

  • (AI) Seasonal services (some combined with West Somerset Railway)

Spirit of Steam

  • (Playable) LMS Jubilee Class railtour with Mk1 Coaches

Tees Valley Line

  • (Playable) Class 37 + Mk2 Coaches Railtour
  • Seasonal Static / AI services (combined with Northern Trans-Pennine)

Northern Trans-Pennine
