The thin wall between our world and the ancient secrets hidden in the deepest parts of the ocean has always been fragile. Not long after the Big Flood the wall has fallen apart and known waters across the globe have mixed up with those deeps. What does it mean for us? That the old Energy is now around us and the creatures we see may disturb what we thought about life. Not all of it is capable of good and evil. Some of it is filled with power, possessed by it. And that’s exactly what is standing in our way right now. In the form of aggressive fishes, shining weirdly through the water. In the form of giant monsters still sleeping just below us. But when you hear the cracking rocks and the unbearable scream you just know one thing - the sleeper has awakened!
Today we want to introduce you to the main concept of Underwater Space. As you may have anticipated, the game will be filled with the mystery of the deeps. The greatest mystery of it all is the old Energy released to the world when the whole Earth was flooded. It came together with lifeforms possessed by it. Some of them are strong enough to keep their power for themselves and still decide about their fate. But most of them turned out to aggressive creatures willing to use the power to destroy everything that is unknown for them. And what is the weirdest, unknown thing for someone living in the deeps for centuries? Yes, mankind. You will be placed in the very dangerous world where enemies are waiting just around the corner.
But the Energy has its benefits too. People learned how to collect and transform it for later use. It powers the great mining centers, the engines of high-tech ships, and can even serve as a shield for a restricted amount of time. That means you will hunt for the ancient creatures not only to survive but also to gather the most precious resource that will help you to fight your way through the game. There are other resources too but that’s something you will learn in the next devlogs ;)
