Participate in the testing of the update

Hello Volunteers! Today we invite you to test the next Desolate update.

List of improvements

As before, the purpose of public testing is to test new features and fixes that will hit the game in the future. To put it simply, play for fun, test the game and pay attention to the new features.

Improved Combat AI:

• New NPC behavior in combat: more tactical attacks on the player
• Fixed unrealistic NPC dodging
• Also, NPCs got some new melee animations

Bug fixes:

• Fixed game crashes
• Fixed bug when pressing tab would cause a player character to run endlessly

Improved melee combat:

• Fixed a bug where a punch could go through an opponent
• Improved NPCs' reactions to blows to make it clearer when a blow reaches the target

How to participate in the beta test

Important: please note that the beta test may overwrite your autosaves - normal saves will not be affected. However, we advise you to make a backup copy of your saves and move them to another folder just in case.

• You need to have a purchased copy of Desolate in your Steam library.
• Go to your Steam library in your profile, find Desolate, right-click on it, and click "Properties.
• Select the "Beta Tests" tab.
• Select Beta test Development
• Enter password: 4ewilCSA8kllq6d5u899
• Close the "Properties" window and wait until the game is updated
• Turn on the game after updating. Play the Prologue Desolate or start the walkthrough in the open world.

How to return from beta mode to classic build:

• Go to your Steam library in your profile, find Desolate, right-click on it and click "Properties".
• Select the "Beta Tests" tab.
• Click on the Beta Tests tab and select no beta there
• Wait for Steam to update the game to its normal state
