Angel Wings Dev Update V: Extra Features (Final Dev Update, Nov 2020)

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well. The last few weeks have been crazy for our team as we've spent hours testing and tweaking Angel Wings to a point we're comfortable with. It's our pursuit of perfection that has led to us waiting on a release date until we're 100% sure we can deliver on it.

That said, this will be our Final Dev Update - the next time you hear from us will be a release announcement. As of right now, our prior estimate of December/January still holds true, so no worries there!

Today we'll show off some of the awesome new features you can expect from Angel Wings once it releases. Some might see them as minor extras, but we feel like they'll be really great aspects of the full game!

Hot, Fresh and Fly

In a visual novel where the majority of the time is spent staring at character models, we felt it appropriate to allow you to customize the looks of the characters in our Angel Wings universe. We've done this by including a wide variety of outfits for each major character, allowing a fresh and iconic look depending on which outfit is selected.

These outfits are unlocked in a variety of ways (i.e. reaching a certain ending, or a character simply liking you enough) - experiment and find your favorite design!

And if you haven't yet, the only way to unlock Kei's exclusive Drift Queen outfit is to play the Angel Wings Demo, so make sure you do that!

En Route

The goal of Angel Wings is to ensure everyone has a fun, rewarding experience while also providing a sense of challenge and replayability. In order to balance this, we've added a Route Selection mode which will allow you to replay your favorite stories in a condensed format - a single character's story with no overlapping plot lines.

In order to avoid spoiling the full roster, we've decided not to show the entire Route Selection menu. To unlock these routes, you'll simply need to complete that character's route one time in a regular playthrough - regardless of ending, the route will be unlocked and you can try for any of their other endings.

Closing Thoughts

We've spent a lot of time and energy adding these extras to the game, because we truly believe these features add a ton of life and variety to the story we want to tell. Hopefully you'll feel the same once you try it out for yourself!
