Hey guys, we hope that you have been doing well this past month. It’s been a challenging time for all of us and we hope that this month’s Kickstarter Update will bring you joy and excitement as we share some of the things we have been working on for the past several months. As we are gearing up to the release of 1.0, we have a Gigantic patch update coming to the Steam Early Access build on 27th of November, so mark your calendars fellow Tamers!

First of all, the console porting of Re:Legend is being worked on right now and we are working on all kinds of optimization to ensure it is able to run smoothly on console devices. As a result, we have a little teaser to show you. Here is Re:Legend running on the Nintendo Switch. :)

There are a few things we need to iron out to ensure that the best experience for Re:Legend is delivered to all platforms. We are striving hard to meet those standards and we sincerely hope that this little teaser will get you hyped up as we go through this Kickstarter Update. We aim to release Re:Legend on all platforms and 1.0 within Q1 of 2021, which is happening really soon!

New Features

For the Early Access patch update which is going to be released on this upcoming Friday, we have integrated new features that we have teased all the way back to the previous patch. We know it’s been some time since we have patched the game but now it’s finally here for you to experience them. We have compiled a list of changelog and bug fixes at the bottom of the thread so bear with us as we go through all the exciting news.

First up, we have Runestones and the two main Runestones showcased were Field of White and Firestorm for a symphony of fire and ice.

These two Runestones provide extra layers to your combat and can be found in Yuri the Witch’s shop along with other new Runestones that were added to the game. Runes will make your life easier and significantly improve your experience of the game. Be sure to try them out and tell us how you feel about them.

Besides that, Papa Pia’s Pearl Shop is also open for business for you to spend all your hard earned Pearls that you have won through Fish Racing on useful items. More items will be added to the pearl shop as we patch the game gradually in the future. You can trade for fishing related items or the most sought out Gigantizer! Just in case you don’t know what it does, it can make your crops grow extremely big!

Next up we have Caren, our lovely Vokka carpenter who is now ready to sell you handmade furniture for your dream house customization which is another feature coming to the game.

We believe that house customisation has been a feature that a lot of you have been waiting for and it is finally going to be released! You can now purchase furniture, decorations, wallpapers, floor tiles, cooking tables, and more from Caren’s shop after the patch. Once the furniture is bought, you will be able to customize your home freely and live with style! Do share with us what kind of furniture you would like to purchase so we can release more of them in the future.

During the EA launch, we realised that the majority of players are not utilising Magnus to their full extent because it is inconvenient to go back to the Barn and re-adding them to the party. To combat this issue, we have added a feature where you can revive your friendly partner on the spot!

It is now possible to wake your partner up when they are defeated in the battle so you don’t have to run all the way back to the barn. They will be able to join you in battle with a slight delay of 5s if you are able to give them moral support. Keep in mind that if you leave your partner fainted while moving on to another location, it will damage their trust and it will take some time to regain their lost trust. In order for your partner to shine and evolve into their best form, you need to form a strong bond and never let them down!

In addition, we’ve added a game changing, beneficial feature to the game that allows players to teleport back home directly at any point of the game, that is Mini Totem! Traveling back home in style has never been so easy.

The Mini Totem is sold at Emilia’s Shop for only 200G and it can help you out in your adventure by teleporting you and your partners back to safety within seconds. You no longer need to be afraid of late night adventures and will be able to travel further within a single day.

Coming up next, we will be getting into one of the core feature changes that will impact your playstyle by a lot and add depths into the crafting feature. To improve the quality of your equipment in the game, we have made adjustments to them by adding Grades to the crafting outcome. Every piece of equipment that you have crafted will have their own unique traits and contribute differently to your character’s strength. With this addition coming into the game, no 2 pieces of equipment will feel the same again. The final Grade of your crafted items will be depending on your crafting skills and how well you handle the mini-game. There are 9 different Grades in total and try it out yourself in the game and tell us if you like the changes.

As you can see on the image above, both of the equipment are Thornfluff Cap but they are very different in terms of power. Supreme Grade is definitely stronger than Excellent because it’s base stats is stronger and it also gives more Enhancement slots but despite having better base stats, both pieces of equipment are actually giving different sets of utility. Excellent Grade Thornfluff Cap is giving +15 Physical DEF while Supreme Grade Thornfluff Cap is giving +20 Magic DEF. At the end of the day, it is up to your decision on which piece of equipment to use as the circumstances that you will overcome could be different so pick wisely!

Last but not least, we have the Mailbox system! The NPCs in the village(Or outside) can finally send you mails! There will be mails that are gonna be sent to you throughout the years and be prepared to receive them periodically. You will be receiving information regarding the village’s festivals or receiving items as you progress through the game. We’re not gonna spoil the content of the mail because that’s for you to find out!

UI Updates

Besides working on new features, we have also taken the time to reflect on a few User Interfaces and decided to tweak them so that we can further improve them from a usability and aesthetic standpoint. Most of the tweaks are also done to ensure uniformity of the various UIs to make sure it is up to standards.

VFX Updates

Alongside UI updates, we have also made several upgrades to Re:Legends various visual effects or VFX. We have made certain pop ups clearer and added more contextual pop up effects to let the players know what is happening on their screen. The improvements and additions are on pop up text, skill up, level up and many more.

Balance Changes

One of the aspects of Re:Legend that we worked on heavily for the past few months are game balancing. To ensure that Re:Legend provides a smooth but still challenging experience, we have done a lot of testing and retesting to tweak the current experience of the game so that it delivers the best Re:Legend experience that it can.

Here are the list of things that have been tweaked and balanced:

  • Combat
  • Status Effects
  • Stamina Cost
  • Player Stats
  • Player Leveling Pace
  • Magnus EXP
  • Magnus Stats
  • Magnus Changes
  • Magnus Evolution Requirement
  • Magnus Favourite Food
  • Life Skills
  • Weapon Skills Exp Requirement
  • New Items
  • Story Balance
  • Fishing Minigame
  • Equipments
  • Game Economy
  • Equipments Selling Price
  • Loot Drops Selling Price
  • Ore & Ingots Price
  • Item Drop Rates

The complete change log will be linked at the bottom of the update and if you are interested in reading the full extent of the balance changes, do check them out!

Bug Fixes

Besides game balancing, the team has also been working really hard to iron out as many bugs as we can. Currently we are focusing on eliminating as many bugs as possible for the main features, multiplayer and npc and visual glitches. Game stability is also the main focus as it leads to a smoother experience overall.

A complete list of bug fixes will also be linked at the bottom of the update and if you are also interested in reading that, do check them out as well!

Multiplayer & Localization

Multiplayer is currently being worked on and various aspects of the multiplayer are being tackled by the team to eliminate as many hiccups in the game to ensure that the game will have great multiplayer experience on release. Stability in multiplayer is also a main focus of the team and we are working hard to achieve that. We have managed to get the multiplayer quality up to a certain degree and we would need your help to improve it further. Do let us know if you have encountered any issue during the multiplayer session as we’re constantly improving the multiplayer experience.

As for localization, we are currently working with various parties to ensure that the game can be played in various languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Thai, French and more. We are excited to see Re:Legend breaking the language barrier and hope everyone can enjoy the game. We plan to release the supported language within the coming month as we have a final stretch to reach before it is deemed worthy of being released.

So what do you guys think of this month’s Kickstarter Update? Are you excited for the Early Access patch update for Re:Legend? Do let us know in the comments and social media platforms listed below.
