Beta Update 1.4 (Is Live!)

Dear DE community,

Before the final release of Dead Effect, we have one more update to share with you. It will bring some more changes and improvements which many of you asked for.

One of the most important things this update fixes is the technical glitch that caused many of you to get a black screen. We’ve looked into it and found that the problem was in the Unity engine. Unity version 4.5.4 has fixed the problem and so DE should be fine as well.

You can find more info from Unity here – http://unity3d.com/unity/whats-new/unity-4.5.4 - “Fixed full screen rendering at less than native resolution.”

After a long debate among our team’s members, we’ve also decided to change the graphical interface and the design of the main menu so you’ll be able to interact with it more easily and also use the controller. The change was a lot more complicated than it may seem at first glance. We had to go all the way down to the core mechanics of the game and change things there, so the implementation has taken us quite a long time.

We’ve implemented German into the game and we’re still working on the small bugs that came with it. We’re also preparing a French version of DE.

Currency has been rebalanced in later parts of the game.

We’ve prepared a little Christmas surprise for you as well and added a small sandbox testing level for you all to play around in. It’s the level the team uses for testing and though it’s simple, we hope that many of you will have lots of fun with it.

We’re still working on the multiplayer part of the game, so you don’t have to worry, we haven’t forgotten about it. It’s simply a process that takes a long time because we need to add features we haven’t counted on when we were creating the core build of the game. Changing everything so that it allows for multiplayer is very time consuming, but we won’t abandon the idea. You can expect to see it in one of the future updates.
