Wayward Strand @ the Tiny Teams Festival!

We have some really exciting news - Wayward Strand is being featured by Yogscast in the Tiny Teams Festival, which starts today! If you're here because of Tiny Teams: welcome <3 Say hi in the comments!

If you've never heard of Wayward Strand before: well, it's very lovely to meet you! Wayward Strand is our heartfelt interactive story set on board an airborne hospital. You play as Casey, a slightly rebellious fourteen year old, and explore the ship, getting to know the characters on board, and exploring their lives.

A special feature of our game is that the entire ship and its motley crew of characters all live out their lives as you play. They don't wait around for you to visit them before their story moves forward - each character has their own story, and it plays out as time passes aboard the ship.

This makes Wayward Strand feel really different, as a game, and an experience - it's almost like a living world. As you explore the ship, you'll come across characters who are doing their own things - following their own paths, having their own interactions - and each time you play through the three days that Casey visits the ship, you'll only see a fraction of the entire story of Wayward Strand.

To celebrate Tiny Teams, we're sharing our demo of Wayward Strand during the festival, and we'll also be doing two live-streams during the festival, where we'll share our game with you, answer questions and hear what you think!

Our first live-stream will be happening on Monday the 10th at 11:30 AM BST / 9:30 PM AEST - we'll be streaming a slightly fuller version of the game, where we'll share some of our experiences behind-the-scenes of its development and answer any questions you might have about the game! That is in the early morning for the US, so we'll try to get this stream looping a few times for you USians.

We'll do the second live-stream about halfway through the festival - it'll be Wednesday the 10th at 7:00pm PST / Thursday the 11th, 12:00pm AEST for Aussies. During this stream, our composer and sound designer extraordinaire Maize Wallin will be making a brand new bit of music for the game! This one starts early in the morning for the Eurozone, but it'll probably go for a while, so it might still be on when you're up! But we'll see if we can get some loops of it going as well.

We'll be sharing Steam events for each of these streams soon - once those events are live, you'll be able to add a reminder for each of the events to your calendar. And if you follow us or add Wayward Strand to your wishlist, you'll get notification for these events, the announcements, and everything else we get up to!

We're super excited about being a part of the Tiny Teams festival, and are really chuffed to have been selected! Also, we just wanted to note: while our team is maybe a little larger than 'tiny', we're all part-time on the project at the moment, and as this is the first game from our little indie team, the process of developing Wayward Strand, while wonderful, has also been quite a challenge! So we really appreciate being included in this event, and getting a light shone on our weird and wonderful game. <3

That's it for now - go check out the demo, come say hi on our Discord, and we'll see you on the streams!

It's Goldie! I hope you’re cosy and wrapped up in various blankets, hoodies, oodies, onesies or jumpers right now, because it’s time for the Steam Autumn Festival! My very witty title would have worked better if they’d called it the Steam Fall Festival, but I appreciate the language too. Autumn just has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? Autumn. Makes me think of all of the best parts.…
