Devlog

Hi everyone! Development on Lootbox Lyfe is going great, and the new additions are only going to get better and better! I just released a devlog yesterday on my YouTube channel which you can watch here. It basically explains what kind of additions you can expect in the 1.1.0 update. Hope you enjoy it!

New Tech

The speedrunning community has been doing some insane stuff in terms of pushing records lower and lower. On top of that, I discovered an interesting interaction between the slam move and the friction/acceleration of Liam Cappello. I decided to combine those two observations and add a new speedrun-centric mechanic (which you can test in the beta branch right now)! Basically, if you press down while slamming, you will get maximum acceleration towards the direction you're facing. A lot of people in the discord server have already found many interesting uses of this, and I hope that only more will pop up!

Additions

Development of version 1.1.0 is going great, and it's looking like it's going to be pretty big. Here are the prospective patch notes:

Version 1.1.0 (April 2020, Not Done yet)
To-Do:
- Add extra keyboard layouts.
- Fix double dash speedrun mode glitch.
- Fix bug that doesnt give you cap if you leave before touching it in the shop.
- Make the Gren and Purp cutscenes viewable in speedrun mode.
- Add Gren and Purp to the Base.
- Add additional NPCs.
- Add speedup hat.
- Collectable questline with NPC that leads to a hidden area.
- New ability.
- Add permadeath mode.
- Add option to hide speedrun timer during "normal gameplay".
- Fix pause glitch in final cutscene.
Done:
- Changed the map to make some areas more modular.
- Fixed rogue portal appearing in a dark world.
- Added syringe hat.
- Added top hat.
- Added "Super Skelemania" cameo.
- Changed the way the window was scaled, to make it 1:1 (in some versions of Windows).
- Added corner correction.
- Fixed a softlock that sometimes happened when you created a new save file right after completing the game.
- Fixed a bug that caused some areas to not have a background if you entered them in certain ways.

Feedback

If you have any feedback regarding the new changes (whether you particularly like something, or want to see something else added) I would really appreciate it if you left a comment in the comments to this post! Anyways, hope you guys keep on enjoying the game :)
