Update 3.1.0 — Replays on the real map

Replays you can actually watch

AAR-labs used to tell you what happened. This update shows you.

Open any replay and it now plays back on the map you fought on, framed to the ranked playable area, with every order both players gave laid over it.

Match Playback

  • Three ways to read a match. Deploy — the starting armies and every move ordered before the first shot. Heat — where the match was actually fought, and where nothing ever happened. Units — where each purchase was sent.
  • The build order, side by side. Both players' purchases on one timeline, with unit names and type badges. Click any card to see where that unit went. Aircraft are marked as entering from off-map.
  • Deployment is separated from reinforcements, so you can tell what someone brought to the field apart from what they bought once the shooting started.
  • Transports are counted. Units bought with a ride now show that ride. Previously every BMP and M113 was missing, which quietly understated both armies.
  • The APM duel. Actions per minute for both players across the whole match — useful less for who was busier than for spotting the minute one of you went quiet.
  • Zoom, pan, and playback speed. Double-click to snap back to the full map.

Decks

  • Both decks laid out by category — LOG, INF, SUP, ART, TNK, REC, AA, HEL, AIR — so you can see at a glance what your opponent brought and what they never touched.
  • Availability per veterancy, so you know exactly what was still on the table.

Tournament and custom lobby games

Duels played in a custom lobby — how tournament matches are played — are now picked up and can be watched back with the full playback and build order. They are kept strictly out of your ladder statistics, the players list and community data: nothing was at stake, and the app says so rather than leaving you guessing.

Your history, corrected

  • Games that were being skipped are back. A flaw in how matches were read caused a slice of ranked history to be discarded on import — your own games, and any game against a player whose rating happened to be recorded a certain way. Those matches are recovered on the next scan. Expect your game count to go up.
  • Replays that aren't yours no longer count as yours. A downloaded replay, or a save folder carried over from another PC, used to land in your personal stats as a game you played. Those are now left out.

Numbers you can trust

  • ELO predictions recalibrated. Expected gains and losses were off. They now match what the ladder actually awards, so the number you see before a match is the number you get after it.
  • Rankings no longer reward small samples. The new Adj % sort weighs a win rate against how many games back it up, so a 5–0 stops outranking a 51–14 — and "strongest division" is decided the same way. The percentages on screen stay your raw win rate.
  • Community stats fixed. Mirror matches were counting one game as both a win and a loss for the same division, dragging its win rate toward 50%. The same match uploaded from two folders could also be counted twice. Both are resolved.
  • Division flags were missing across the leaderboard for most divisions. They are back.

Interface

  • Navigation moved into the title bar, reclaiming a full row of vertical space. Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+6 jump straight to a section, and arrow keys walk the tabs.
  • Live WARNO population shown in the title bar — how many people are in game right now.
  • Easier to read. Secondary text was too dim against the dark canvas and the smallest labels were a strain. Both were re-tuned across the whole app.
  • Map thumbnails throughout — replay list, match details, matchup explorer, meta tier list, player profiles.
  • Ranked History rows open the match detail on click, and split Ranked from Unranked 1v1.
  • An empty screen now tells you why it is empty instead of assuming you have never played.

Setup

  • Replay folders redesigned. Folders found on your machine are listed separately from ones you add yourself, each with its own toggle, and a folder that has gone missing now says so instead of sitting there looking like it works.
  • The folder no longer has to exist at startup. Play your first ranked game or switch on Steam Cloud and a rescan picks it up — no restart.
  • Add folders by hand for setups that cannot be detected, including WARNO under Proton.
  • New divisions appear on their own. Divisions shipped in a WARNO patch show up with their real name and flag without waiting for an AAR-labs update. Zone de Défense - Paris and DON-100 are included in this build.
  • A far smaller download that starts faster.

One note

Map images, unit names and deck availability need WARNO installed on the same machine. Without it, playback still works — positions are drawn on a plain grid, and deployment tempo stands in for the named build order.

AAR-Labs had no concept of a season, so the leaderboard kept showing Season 4's standings: the top of the board was full of players who hadn't played a game since the reset, while the actual Season 5 leaders sat far below them.
