Following on from the news of our impending remastered version of Starfighter Origins, we are aiming for the 17th of march 2020 for beta opt in testing so any final issues can be ironed out before full release at the end of the month. The game is free for all owners of the original as the game will be updated to the remastered version as with our CDF Starfighter VR remastered game last January.

What has changed since the last update in 2017?

Re-designed mechanics and gameplay for a non VR audience.

All of the games controls, player and AI have had a total re-design in order better player fun, enjoyment and replayability. The game now has a 3rd person and cockpit view with the touch of a button. You can look around the exterior of your craft and the game is now designed for pc and mouse and keyboard which also offers support for gamepad and hotas.

All new and improved cockpits, ships and visuals

All the 6 playable ships have been remastered with a more stylised look and feel for all of the original ships that populate the CDF universe. The CDF database has been updated and is crucial to lore and going deeper into the CDF universe.

Original Bugs and problems fixed up!

No more campaign crashes, control issues and many other features to make the game more accessible and fun to all players as this version is now designed for normal pc and console gameplay.

3rd person and cockpit View

The remastered version now offers third and cockpit gameplay as you desire. Some aspects of the cockpit version have been greatly improved and the addition of third person view now shows off a lot more of the game and scope to the player.

Improved HUD and essential gameplay elements

The game now has a much improved hud which is designed for None VR. All ships now how relevant hud displays and are no longer huge glowing colourful objects which were designed for VR.

All new and improved menu system

The menu system has had a total overhaul! All game play aside from campaign is now directed for the main menu, the main menu now has more graphics, options and control options which are also available in the in game flight menu which now fully pauses the game. The new menu`s are designed for ease of use and will detect if you are using keyboard and mouse, gamepad or another input such as HOTAS which now has full support. The new mene system allows you to change game controls in mission as well graphics, sound and other options.


All New AI

A whole new overhaul for AI has been introduced which adds much more to gameplay and is now working for turrets, ships and bases. The flight AI and algorithms are all new to provide a much better space combat experience in terms of gameplay over realism.

New Content

The remastered version is no longer a direct port and has tuned and more relevant gameplay for non VR players. The game now features new quick launch, death and many more features and gameplay which detach the game from the VR version. All new skirmish mode has been designed around fun and none VR gameplay.

In a nutshell, the game has had an overhaul, almost everything in the game has been improved or reworked! There are lots of fixes, improvements and plays like an entirely new game in most respects.
