Yo-ho-ho! Set sail, captain!
Today is a great day for all lovers of sea adventures — the Curse of Pirates playtest launches on Steam. This ain't a lazy cruise on calm waters. It's a real challenge for the bravest and most daring sea dogs out there.
This time, we've turned build-crafting upside down and completely reworked the Mark system. Marks now vary in power and rarity, so by placing them wisely into your ship's ability slots, you can forge an incredibly powerful vessel.
Choose your ship to match your playstyle, mix active and passive abilities, take down bosses to unlock new levels, and survive endless waves of deep-sea monstrosities.
Speaking of waves. We added WAVES. To a GAME ABOUT PIRATES. Each level is now split into four waves. Keep cutting down enemies until you draw the attention of a massive crowd of hostile sea scum. Good luck surviving that. And if you defeat the boss, an endless wave of ghosts from the Dead Seas awaits you at the end of the level. Let's see how long you can hold out!
We've also introduced player stats. The more monsters you send to Davy Jones's locker, the bigger the bounty the Dominion officials put on your head! Who will be the most wanted pirate on the seven seas?
