Hey!
We released our original demo back in October 2023 and it was missing many improvements that were included in the full game along with the updates we've been adding since launch.
A new demo is available today that includes:
- French, Spanish and Japanese language options
- Improved controller support
- Optional tank controls
- Aim assist options
- Difficulty modes
- Accessibility settings
- Remappable controls
- New painted character portraits
- Updated character dialogue typewriter and vocal SFX
- Improved performance
- Several bug fixes and adjustments
Please note: saves from the original demo are not compatible with this new version as we've had many changes with how data is saved behind the scenes.
Can't launch the new demo?
Try closing and reopening Steam, we needed to update some of the launch options for the new version and I believe these come from the Steam client rather than the demo file download.
Access the original 2023 demo
We've added a public beta branch "2023 Demo" that can be selected for the game if you'd like to play the original demo.
If you were part way through the 2023 demo and would like to continue without restarting then you can enable the beta branch and your saves will still be there for you if you're playing on the same device.
To opt into the 2023 demo branch:
- Right click on the demo in your Steam Library
- Select "Properties"
- Open the "Beta" tab
- Under "Beta Participation" select "2023 Demo"
- Steam should now automatically download the 2023 demo
