It’s been a little while. Let’s catch up.
When we last wrote a little message like this, it was with the balancing notes back in January, so we thought it was about time to give you all a quick update on what we’re up to, and the progress of conclusion for Arcade.
To start off with, we must confess that we’re definitely not the well-oiled machine we hoped to be when work resumed. Arcade’s workload has left its lingering scars, and while we’re working through it, we’re having to slow down here and there to allow the rust to be cleaned off without breaking anything.
Arcade Part 2 has been a challenge to approach, because we didn’t want to just deliver more of the same thing, especially after leaving you guys waiting. We had something in mind, and we were working on it throughout February, and had both scripting and the early stages of the gameplay all organized.
Unfortunately, when we actually played the thing, we all came to the same conclusion: which is that it was not what we wanted, and that we could do better. This led us down a rabbit hole (pun unintended), and now we’re looking at something that fits a lot better with what we want for the ending of Arcade.
Without revealing too much, the long and short of it is this: we wanted to provide something a little more cinematic with Part 2 of Arcade. So, on top of the gameplay we’ve got two full cinematics planned, and a final level that really puts the Arcade to rest on an exciting high.
For those following along outside of this page, you’ll know that we’ve been hard at work on some other content too.
The Arcade Trailer cinematic was released to our YouTube channel, as well as being added to the Steam page.
We’ve just started the pre-orders for the first of what we hope is many IN HEAT plushies: Poppi! To better explain, we even made a fully animated announcement video, which can be found at the link below.

We’re hoping to have more to show you soon, as we get the gameplay feeling the way we want it, and get closer to Arcade Part 2’s release, but that is the basic gist of what we’ve been up to.
